Yoda Soccer - Sensible Soccer remake

Being a fan of the European Championships, I had to find some footy (soccer game) remake. I looked, and came up with yoda-soccer. I hear you asking yoda-soccer? Yes, but don't worry, you are not playing with a team of yoda's. In fact after playing it for a while, I don't really know why it is called Yoda-soccer. In any case, remakes.org tells us that it is a remake of the Amiga game Sensible Soccer (Click here to find out what Sensible Soccer is (article by Lorenzo Dani)). I never played the original, so I can only judge from how well this game is programmed as an old school soccer game like "Kick-off" or similar games I did play. First impression; It has a lot of options to play with, and many different teams to select. Both national and regional. If you are in the EC mood like me, then check out the UEFA teams. Graphics really remind me of the good old Amiga days. So don't expect 3D. But it's all about playability in these types of games. (As any good game should be, but this is forgotten much to often nowadays) I like the remake a lot. It has a professional look and feel to it. It is good looking, and fast playing. The graphics fit this type of game, and the sound is atmospheric. I recommend giving it a try. The remake however is version is (at time of writing) version 0.68. So more improvements are expected.
Nice little screensaver. Only 900kb. This screensaver makes it look like you have a C64, and are loading some games on it. Quite amuzing, also contains some music.
Smilas Remakes is a nice site with a few very nice remakes from titles such as monty on the run, jet set willy, fire ant and lunar resque. 13 Games in total.
Very good site, which holds many many c64 games. All games have images and descriptions. Also the diskimages can be downloaded also. A diskimage can be used with any c64 emulator. This is one of those sites that is a must if you like C64 related games.

11 Games online. All browser (java or flash) games. They are quite decent games. I love the fact that they have "Simon" as a classic game. That really takes you back in time. All games are decently done, however I do like to complain about collision detection of their "moon patrol" version.

Interesting site. Dark basic is a nice basic for creating your own games. It has this section for retro-remakes. However I prefere blitzbasic over darkbasic, because it seems more friendly. But that is a personal opinion. Many entries of varying quality. Fun to visit!
Good site for some remakes that you cannot find on remakes.org. There is less games, but the games that are there are better quality. However these are more game-demos, and not full games.
Very good website for remake games. If you are looking for an old game and want to play it again, with updated graphics and sound. You probably find it here. If you want to play an old game, but without hassling with an emulator. This is probably your best start for looking. Most games are shareware/freeware. My favourites are remakes of Turrican and SWIV.
